The project relocates the City’s Public Works operations from a flood plain to a 22-acre site east of downtown.  In 2009 A Master Plan was completed for 10 buildings.  Detailed design was complete for the sitework and for 5 buildings, but the funding was affected by the 2005 recession.  Nevertheless, the site was rough graded underground utilities to each building location were installed.

The project was restarted in 2022 with a commitment to develop a single, large, repurposed building.  It will accommodate shops, warehouse space and facilities for around 150 staff.  This will include 2 stories of administration offices, lunchroom, lockers, crew rooms, drying room, and conference space.

Construction was completed in 2026.
